Questions we hear a lot.
The Marketing Test is a skills assessment platform built specifically for marketing hiring. It helps agencies, brands, and hiring managers evaluate candidates through real work-sample scenarios before making an offer. Instead of relying on interviews alone, you send candidates a structured test that reveals how they think, what they prioritize, and where their knowledge gaps are. Tests are available for roles including media buyers, growth marketers, creative strategists, lifecycle marketers, and more.
Marketing agencies, in-house marketing teams, and founders hiring marketers. Agencies use it to standardize hiring across roles and clients. In-house marketing leads use it to align stakeholders and reduce interviewing subjectivity. Founders who aren’t marketers themselves use it to evaluate candidates for roles they don’t have expertise in.
The Marketing Test includes pre-built templates for advertising strategists, creative strategists, email and SMS marketing specialists, Google Ads media buyers, and Meta Ads media buyers. Each template is designed to evaluate the specific decisions and tradeoffs that matter for that role. New role templates are added regularly.
Yes. You can use any pre-built template as-is, or customize it by adding your own questions and scenarios. You can also build a test entirely from scratch using your own content. Adding your business context, like your margins, your channel mix, or your specific constraints, makes candidate responses significantly more useful because they’re reacting to your reality, not a generic case study.
Yes. You can add custom questions to any existing template or create a fully custom assessment from scratch. This is especially useful when you want to test for something specific to your business, like how a candidate would handle a scenario unique to your industry or client base.
Every time a candidate completes a test, the results are emailed directly to the email address of your choice. You can also view all results in your dashboard, which shows each candidate’s score, performance band (junior, mid, senior), integrity score, and the date they completed the assessment. Results are designed to be shared with your team without interpretation required.
That’s up to you. The Marketing Test includes an integrity score that flags patterns in how candidates responded, including response timing, consistency across the scenario, and other behavioral signals. It’s not a definitive AI detector. It’s a signal that helps you evaluate results and ask better follow-up questions. Some teams want to see how candidates work with AI. Others want to evaluate fundamentals without it. The integrity score is useful either way.
The integrity score is a metric included with every completed assessment. It analyzes response patterns, timing, and consistency to surface signals about how a candidate approached the test. It helps you understand whether the responses reflect the candidate’s own judgment or whether there are patterns worth investigating further. It’s designed to inform your evaluation, not replace it.
You decide. Most screening tests run 30 to 45 minutes. Deeper evaluations for senior roles can go longer. Candidates complete the test on their own time by clicking a link you share with them. There’s no scheduling or back-and-forth required.
Tests are graded automatically. Each candidate receives an overall score, a performance band (junior, mid, or senior), and a breakdown by competency area. The scorecard highlights strengths, gaps, and specific signals worth exploring in a follow-up interview. You can compare multiple candidates side by side using consistent benchmarks.
A competency-by-competency scorecard showing the candidate’s score, performance band, and integrity rating. It includes a breakdown of strengths and gaps across the skill areas tested. The report is designed to be shared with hiring managers, leadership, or anyone else involved in the decision without needing additional context or interpretation.
Each assessment has a unique link. You copy the link from your dashboard and send it to the candidate however you prefer: email, Slack, text, or through your ATS. The candidate clicks the link, completes the test on their own time, and you receive the results automatically.
No. Agencies are a core audience because they hire marketers frequently and need to maintain a consistent bar across teams and clients. Yes. Once you build or customize a test, it stays in your library. You can reuse it anytime you’re hiring for the same role. Agencies find this especially useful for maintaining a consistent hiring bar across cycles without rebuilding assessments each time.
